Blackberry, Basil, & Brie Burgers
Sorry guys. I have been away scouring over my studies for the past month. I only have 21 days left! Hooray! A few days ago the boyfriend got some delicious meat at the farmer's market and whipped me up this delicious recipe. Brie is ultimately my favorite cheese, and I LOVE adding fruit to my dinners (my roommate disagrees and does not believe the two should be combined). However, I love the flavor combinations represented in this dish. Enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 lb beef
Seasoning for beef patties
Whole wheat buns
1 pint blackberries
6-7 basil leafs, sliced
Brie cheese
2 cups arugula or spinach
Directions:
Prep your patties by splitting the beef up into 4 equal sections and season. Add to the frying pan and cook. Flip halfway through and cook the other side. Prep the blackberry mixture by mashing with a fork and adding the basil leafs. A few minutes before removing the patties from the pan, add a slice of brie cheese to cover the top of the patty. Cook until it melts and toast the buns in the meantime. Once finished, assemble all ingredients including the patty with brie, blackberry mixture, and arugula or spinach.
